Hopeful Trends

One of the things I love so much about my job is getting to see some truly beautiful homes. If you’ve been around for a while, my favorites spaces are the ones where function and beauty intersect in ways that life inside them just flows in all the right ways.

One of the downsides of my job, is seeing the same spaces, in different places, over, and over, and over again. To some it’s a blank slate to turn into what they want, but for me, representing clients and knowing how different they all are, to see so much of what’s available be so similar….it’s wild! It’s sometimes hard for me to reconcile.

So on this little corner of the internet, I’d like to share some trends I’ve seen that I pray start to gain traction. They are soulful, delightful, and that intersection I talked about that just breathes in all the good things.

First up…sky lights! I shared an open house I was in back in October with skylights in the Houston Heights area, and it was so beautiful! Every time I see them since, I’m captivated all over again. The light pouring in and the shadows that are cast? It gives all the bright and moody vibes at once.

The second trend I love so much and this may be where each client adds their own flare, is traditional woodwork and architecture with modern interior decor. It is such a beautiful merging of eras and feels both fresh, yet grounded.

And the last trend I hope with every fiber in my body makes a come back, is a kitchen other than white cabinets with white and grey countertops. They are beautiful indeed, I’m certainly not negating that. But in seven years, when every home on the market looks the same, guarantee you the ones that sell will have some charm to them!

So if you’re planning a renovation or remodel, I hope these have shown you some alternate yet oh so beautiful options and if you’re just here for the pretty things, well amen!

Which hopeful trend are you cheering the most for?
